Upcoming Fall Art Show

Davincifallshow

Parents! Students! Friends! We will be having our first art show of the year on October 9th, and we couldn’t be more excited! It is mandatory for all 2-D and 3-D art students to come to the art show. They do not need to stay the whole time. Each student is required to summit at least one piece of art work in the show.

Here is a sneak peek of what will be in the art show!  Can’t wait to show you the rest on October 9th.

Quick note to guardians

I am reaching out to ask you to donate any old picture frames, saran wrap, or packing tape for the upcoming show. Please send these items to school with your students.

We are also having a small Halloween Show on the 30th of October, so make sure you mark that on your calendar.

Thank you for all of your support! If you have any questions, please shoot me an e-mail!

Zentangle Squares

Our first project in Foundations of Art 7/8 was Zentangle Squares!

Students were asked to create Zentangle Squares that incorporated rhyme, contrast, pattern, balance, unity/variety,  thick and thins lines.

What is a Zentangle?

  • A Zentangle is a easy method of creating beautiful images from repetitive patterns.
  • It is a fascinating new art form that is fun and relaxing. It increases focus and creativity.
  • Zentangle provides artistic satisfaction and an increased sense of personal well-being.

Here is how they turned out:

NOTE TO THE PARENTS

Instructor:        Skye Rosdahl
Course:            Foundations I
Quarter:        Fall 2013

Parent/Guardians:

I am very excited to have your young adult as my student this quarter.  We have had a GREAT first day.  We are looking forward to the rest of the quarter.

Please encourage your child to come see me if they need help. I enjoy working with students, and one-on-one time is often very beneficial.   If you need to contact me for any reason, please call the school at 801-409-0713 or email me at skye.rosdahl@davinicacademy.org. I can respond faster to an email.

Now this is the time where I ask for your help to improving your child’s education. I am in need of a few more supplies for the coming year. If you would be willing to donate any of these materials it would be greatly appreciated.

My Wish List:

Old towels we can turn into clean up rags
Large boxes of Saran wrap
Old Magazines (kid friendly please)
Tissues
Brightly colored Sticky Notes

Returning a guardian signed and completed syllabus sheet will start the student off with a 10 points to their grade.  Thanks for your help.

Sincerely,

Skye Rosdahl
